Simple Womans Day Book

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...There is the sound of a steady stream of cars headed north, it is the first day of school at the local Community College. The first day of a new life for some and continued moving forward for others. God Bless our young people, thier care free days of high school or gone a whole new world awaits them.
It is a pleasant cool morning a little over cast, effects of the hurricane or now Tropical Storm headed to FL. Pray for these dear folks.

I am thinking...How almost fall like it seems this morning, but I know it will be so hot this evening. I can almost feel fall in the air in the early morning hours.

I am thankful …..for this day God has given us, for the over abundance of fruits and veggies he has helped produce for my freezer and canning. And that DH is feeling well enough to grow it and help pick and can it. For the visit from my middle boy and family,

From the kitchen...for breakfast it’s hot coffee, sausage and pancakes with blueberry syrup. Lunch will be tomato sandwiches. Super will be a big green salad and boiled shrimp.

I am wearing…long white gown and barefooted..

I am going…to can more pear halves for DH. Was going to make pear relish but he decided he wanted pear halves instead…fine by me much easier to do. I will post recipe for pear relish later this week for those who asked about it.

I am creating...have been too busy lately to craft much. Hope to get through with canning and work around house soon so I can get started on my Christmas paintings.

I am reading...The Book of Daniel, what a great and complicated book.

I am hearing...The sound of knowledge.....cars headed to first day of college.

Around the house...Everything is quite except for the passing cars. Dishes need washing and clothes need folding.

One of my favorite things...is watching the sun come up over the trees on a cool crisp morning.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Monday…can pears, go to Wally World and buy groceries
Tuesday…start packing my stuff up, from my bedrooms and getting everything ready for Thursday
Weds….Bible study, we are studying the book of Daniel
Thurs…Hoo-ray the day I’ve been waiting for 3 months (really several years) we are getting our flooring down in 2 bed rooms and the bath. Can’t wait
Fri. play it my ear and clean up and rearrange furniture.
Sat. Play it by ear
Sunday …go to Church
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
Hope you have a great day. don't forget to check out the other daybooks for today.

I am reading...Some great blogs from blogland….not really getting a lot of reading done.

I am hoping that this new treatment will help DH with his sinus infection, it’s been going on too long.

I am hearing...outside my house is a constant hum of a truck motor, it is a special sound I know too well, the across the highway neighbor is having chicken manure put on his pasture, oh Lord does it stink, won’t be able to go out in the yard for 2 weeks…sigh, I know as expensive is it is to farm now, they have to save every way they can, but God I hate that rotten smell.

The Simple Woman's Day book

Outside my window...
This morning it is overcast but after the storms last night everything is still and refreshed...the traffic is slow this morning, Co-Lin finished the Spring Semester last week. DH's garden has sprung to live with the rains

I am thinking...
How we never know from one day to the next what life has in store, I met a sweet lady Susie Mitchell from, susies-heart on my blog 2 weeks ago, she found me, and last Monday when I was depressed she left me such a sweet up beat comment, I learned through another friend of her's that she left this world to be with our Lord a few days later. I knew her for only a short time, but she touched my heart in a special way, she will be missed.

I am thankful ….
for the friends that enter my life and touch my heart, even if for a short time.
From the kitchen...
Coffee, and Peach Cobbler...hummm good. Supper I'm thinking Fried Pork Chops, mashed Tatar, gravy, butter peas and broccoli and cheese, sweet tea and cornbread.

I am praying...
for all of the folks in the fire zone and in the path of all these storms. So many have lost everything.
I am hearing..
Fox News on TV and the coffee pot perking, love that sound.
Around the house...
clothes need washing, floors need mopping, but still have curtains that need cutting off and heming, then hung, before I can do any real deep cleaning.

One of my favorite things..
the feeling of satisfaction when a job is finished.

A few plans for the rest of the week...
Finishing my bedroom curtains, going to Mo-Mo's softball game, and Redman's ball game, take the travel car to get the oil leak fixed. And just what ever comes up, learning not to plan to much....

The Simple Woman's Day book

FOR TODAY Monday 5-4-2009
Outside my window...
It's a new day, yesterday we had very bad weather, this morning the sun is trying to shine,
limbs are everywhere, birds are chripping softy. The seeds DH planted last week is starting to break through.
I am thinking...
I am so sad I didn't get to go see Marissa sing Sat night and her Daddy didn't make it back to Jackson to see her either. I guess it's this meds and being sick so long, but I am terrible depressed today. The storm came through yesterday caused a lot of damage and left alot of clean up to do.
I am thankful ….
that even though we had winds of up to 85 miles an hour we didn't suffer alot of damage to the home and only a few limbs blown down.
From the kitchen...
Coffee, and rice crispy treats, I know not a very healthy breafast. DH smoked a pork roast today and we will have pull porked sandwiches with coleslaw and tater salad for supper..
I am wearing
demin shorts and blue Richland Rangers T-shirt, and white fluffy socks.
I am going

a Rooster lamp for my new look in my bedroom, will cover the lamp shade with material cut from my curtains I will be redoing this week. I am finishing my redwork pillow cases...
I am reading...
not getting any reading done right now.
I am hoping...
To finish my bedroom make over, also hope my bed comforter and dust ruffle arrives this week. I ordered my curtains 4 days after the comforter and they arrived Sat still no comforter set.
I am praying
That God will touch me and get rid of the depression I find myself in.
I am hearing...
DH snoring and Chi-Chi barking at the cows that are getting to close to her yard fence.
Around the house...
clothes need washing, curtains need cutting off and heming, then hung, furinture needs repainting
need to make my lamp shade and some threw pillows out of the extra material.
One of my favorite things...
How my DH will let me do anything I want in this house and will help do anything I ask, he is going to drill a hole in a ceramic Rooster for me to make my lamp...

The Simple Woman's Day book

FOR TODAY Monday 4-27-2009
Outside my window...
It's a new week, the sun is not quite up yet, there is a wood pecker tapping out a perfect rhythm on the Oak tree outside my bedroom window. A cow is lowing for her Calf that Mr Hart is loading up to take to the sale barn. I hear Matthew's 4 wheeler humming along as he helps round up the calves for the sale. It's already getting warm and it's only 7AM, Mississippi summer is on the way.
I am thinking...
How very sad I am for having to cancel my Trip to Branson yesterday. But I hope I get over this crud soon.
I am thankful ….
For my Dr who is so good to me, and that I am fortunate enough to be able to go to the Doctor when I'm sick, I am thankful that I am feeling a little better and hope I can continue to improve.
The Drs who can run test on my GS Thurs and make sure he is ok.
From the kitchen...
Coffee, that's a given, not sure what else. DH will probably fix some oatmeal when he gets up. I ate a bowl of Cheerios to take my meds with, can't take this stuff on an empty stomach...we will play supper by ear. Depending on how I feel later today. Have some homemade soup in freezer I might just have to threw in Micro-wave...DH will make cornbread to go with it.
I am wearing
a purple night gown
I am going
To rest as much as possible and try to get well.
I am creating...
A give away for my blog, this week I will post my 200th post. Also trying to finish up my T2T item for exchange with TT.
I am reading...
Some great new blogs I've discovered and still Studying The Chapter of John.
I am hoping...
That this week will be better than last week. As far as me being sick. And
I am praying
that God will reach down and touch Redman and he is ok and has no heart problems when they do his test Thursday
I am hearing...
A fire truck coming up the highway headed toward Wesson, hope there isn't a wreck near the College where they have to use the jaws of life...very common this time of year. Kids just fly on the flats above my house.
Around the house...
clothes need washing, floors need mopping others need vacuuming, dishes need putting in dish washer...but it will wait till I'm feeling better, DH will put dishes in washer, the rest won't go anywhere which is too bad....
One of my favorite things...
The smell of the fresh plowed ground, where DH is getting it ready for the seed.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Monday rest, rest, rest..
Tues. Go back for follow up with Dr. and maybe pick up a pizza for supper.
Weds. Clean or reorganize my paint room, a little at a time and try to finish up my T2T item for TT exchange, due Friday
Thurs. hopefully will feel well enough to go to the grocery store... and that we hear GOOD news from My GS's test.
Fri. Straighten up the house and get ready for the week-end...
Sat. Hope to be feeling well enough to go to the Braves game in Jackson, Sat night. My little Rissa-Kat is singing at the opening of the game. Her little 2d grade class from school will be preforming. She had to try-out and was excepted.
Sunday.. Will be going to Church and seeing all of the slide shows our group made while in Branson this week, at least I'll get to enjoy it that way..
Here is a picture thought for the day....
My first thought when I saw this scene was "A boy and his dog"
It's not very clear, I had to take it through my bedroom window with a zoom. My DH was setting down deciding what he wanted to plant, how many rows and where . If you look close you will see a black object laying behind him. That is Levi, our black Lab, I can always find DH when he's outside by simply finding Levi, where ever DH is, he is right beside him. If he's in his shop, Levi is on the top step, if he is in the swing, Levi is right behind it....never more than 3 steps away.
Hope you have a great day. don't forget to check out the other daybooks for today.
